VOTE YES ON SEPTEMBER 26TH
WEST FARGO IS GROWING RAPIDLY: West Fargo Public Schools is the fastest growing district in the state with over 13,000 students and is running out of space to educate kids. We need to ensure the Hawks area around Horace has enough space to educate all learners by expanding the middle and high school and planning for another elementary.
SAFETY AND SECURITY ENHANCEMENTS: Security remains a top priority for our community - over $2 million is included for enhanced security measures like lockdown doors, increased security cameras, and better fire sprinkler systems.
NO SCHOOL IS LEFT OUT: Every school in the district benefits, whether through expansions, improved security, enhanced special education spaces, and/or upgraded learning spaces.
SPECIAL EDUCATION: The district needs to expand the programming for preschool students with special needs and would build an expansion in the Mustang area to provide more space and reduce the distance students need to travel. This is in addition to improvements for special education in all district schools, improving spaces to make them safer and better for learning.
VETERANS MEMORIAL ARENA EXPANSION: A new sheet of ice costs over $17 million. If the referendum is approved in September, the district could partner with West Fargo Youth Hockey and the WF Parks District and only need to spend $5 million. We can save millions for district taxpayers while ensuring each high school has access to a sheet of ice!
